Secondary Root Canal On Tooth With Bridge - what is going to happen?!?!

I have to have a root canal redo - the original root canal was probably 6 or 7 years ago.  I lost two teeth in front of that molar, so I FINALLY saved up enough money to get my bridge done over the summer.  Now I am facing this redo - and I am terrified that I am going to lose my bridge!!!  I CANNOT afford to replace it and I have to have it - the dentist had to grind down my eye tooth (which had never had so much as a cavity) for the front of the bridge and the back of the bridge is connected to the tooth that is now causing problems.  Am I going to lose my bridge or can it be removed and put back on following the root canal?

Also, I am not 100% sure that it is actually my tooth causing the problem - I have an antibiotic resistant sinus infection...the entire right side of my head is in pain.  But the WORST is the tooth in question...which makes no sense, as it should have no nerves!

Please help - I cannot afford to lose this beautiful bridge!  I don't understand why my dentist did not do the secondary root canal in the first place, as she mentioned she was concerned about it before doing the bridge.  She was talking to herself about it, but decided it wasn't worth worrying about (rolls eyes!).

Thank you so much

I have an appointment with the endodontist on Wednesday, but I am just really worried about the thought of losing this tooth and, thus, losing my bridge.  I have a CT scan tomorrow morning to examine my sinuses to see if the infection is in my sinus cavities or if it is in the root of the tooth.  I am also on a much stronger antibiotic, so hopefully no matter WHERE the infection is, it will be eradicated.

Thank you for your response.  I will look up peri apical surgery so I have a better idea of that process.  Otherwise, I guess I am doing all I can do right now.!

If the cause of your symptom does result from peri apical infection of root canaled tooth, and you can not afford redo bridge and endodontic retreat ent, the best alternative is peri apical surgery, which does nothing to the bridge. Seeing an endodontist is advised.
