My mother is having a similar issue. I too think your "bumps" might be "Tori." I found a great website that was extremely informative. It is www.doctorspiller.com look under "sores, lumps & bumps." You might not have found info under Tori because the med name is: Torus Mandibularis. Hope this helps...until I found this website, I was a bit freaked out when my mother asked me to look into her mouth!
they are growths of bone.. they grow slowly. see an oral surgeon to make a definitive diagnosis.
Thanks for your suggestion...I cannot find this condition (tori)listed anywhere though. Would the onset be gradual..I have noticed them for the past few months becoming what I thought was enlarged, but now they are so large that they interfere with my eating due to being painful when food scratches the surface.
they are probably tori although an oral surgeon needs to examine you to make sure. they are not uncommon and are harmless, and can be removed if they interfere with function or are annoying. I would see an oral surgeon to evaluate them and discuss their removal.
It is difficult to diagnosis this without seeing it. It doesn't sound serious but I think you need an oral surgeon for a definitive diagnosis.
