Tori won't stop growing

I have some tori that won't stop growing (a little one on the roof of my mouth [it doesn't bother me though], a BIG one on each sides of my mouth, and two big ones in the middle [where my tongue is]).  Since about last month, the ones in the middle connected together, and are now about 3x the size of what they were last year.  My orthodontist and dentist both said it was the biggest they've seen yet.  I'm only 17, so chances are they're going to grow for another while.  The section where my tongue is, it's almost only bones.  (I will try to post a picture later).  My dentist said it was probably because I had braces for 5 years and elastics so my mouth was always closed shut, but I took my braces off last year and they keep growing (FAST!).  I was sent to see an oral surgeon (in feb.), but I was wondering, where did I get this from? (my mom has two TINY ones, but no one else in my family has them ..  Also, should I get them removed? I have to get my wisdom teeth out too, so it might be a challenge since there's bones EVERYWHERE ! .. Does it hurt?  What should I expect if I get them removed?
Thanks !

I had the growth removed 10 days ago. You will not feel a thing till the numbness gose away. They did a shotty job I think on me but it may be how bad the growths are. If they tell you bad just be ready. I watch many video's before and after. For some its not so bad. You have a computer I suggest research. Mine is cutting into my tongue still after the surgery.
