abcess tooth. very swollen

Hello everyone. my name is jay. I'm here because i have a infection above my top middle fang tooth and middle tooth. i know its an infection from having so many abcesses before. yet this 1 is diffrent. i woke up 1 day and my 2 front teeth where in agonizing pain, i know all about that, yet the pain went away the next 2 days and thats when the swelling kicked in. the whole right side of my face is still kinda swollen but not as bad. yet i still have the infection. the bubble is diffrent as it seems because its likes its not wanting to pop. i sterized a needle and tried popping it. till i realized the needle would not go through the abcess(bump). thats when its started hurting from irritation. so basicaly  i am now sitting here about 4-5 days later. i am taking cylhmidicilin or however its spelled. yet the swolling is still their but decreasing slowly but surely. i know it wont totally go down till this infection is poped. . i can tell the tooth has died hense i feel no pain from it eexcept the abcess which feels as if it wants out! which is what i want. ive also been taking ibu for pain and swollenness which has also been working slowly but surely..  im 21 years old with no health insurance. i dont know how much llonger i can handle my face being twice its size.. i want to do it my way but this seems dangerous, ive had literally about 5-6 abcess in my life and pioped more than half of them myself, never needed medical attention even with worst pain. but father is dieing to take me to the hospital. i tell him its the ushall pain/infection i always face from abcess's and i guess the reason i posted this is bcause i am dieing to know what i should do about this. i want the swelling gone, and want to pop this thing. can anyone help me with advice yet without a hosptial, i want to avoid them  yet will go to the hosptial if totally needed!.. it would be greatly appreciated if somone could give me some insight.   thanx  -jay

you cant pop the infection to cure it, you will need root canal therapy.  popping the area only lets the infection drain but its still there.

you are correct a severe infection can make the area difficult to numb.

I let an infection go, got a very nasty abcess.Had to take meds and had to have the tooth pulled. When it came time to have the tooth pulled it would not go numb.I had to bit the bullet and let the denist do her thing. DR told me that due to the infection thats why it would not go numb. Weather thats ture or not I don't know! On feb12, I ended up with 7 teeth pulled and a partial put in and it is very, very painful. Please let. your Father take you to the hospital.I don't mean to be all preachy but in the long run, it's better to let a denist take care of it. Good Luck and Take care of yourself :0)

if you have had an abcess there before and it was caused by an infected tooth it is still the first one you ever had. if tooth related they never fully heal which is why it keeps coming back. you need to have the tooth fixed now. if left infected for long periods of time the infection can spread to the bone. you need a dentist now!
