OMG! have you asked him to get them and he refused? i have been a dental assistant for 8 years, and he HAS to order them if hes gonna work on you. even if youre the only patient in the practice that needs them. he can get a box of 100 gloves for 5 dollars from his supply rep. i would find another dentist AND report him to OSHA. go to the OSHA website and they will walk you thru it. good luck!
You would think with all the people who suffer with this allergy the dentists would have latex free gloves. Any medical supply store will have these but getting the dentist to use them may be difficult once the box is open. If you plan on staying with one particular dentist, ask if you can buy a box of latex free gloves to be used strictly for you. I think once you make this offer the dentist will opt to buy some. Also, take a note from your doctor stating your allergy, this may open their eyes to the need to have these.
