I had an infected rt canal inside a crown i got 8 years ago from an awful dentist who gave me a crown waaaay too big dor my mouth that caused things like my gums bleeding constantly and i could actually stick dental floss pieces in between the crowns top and gum hanging over both aides right after it was conpleted. I wasnt shocked it got infected but i had to have the entire tooth (a canine - #11) and rt extracted and bone graphs put in after which i was given a plastic flipper with a fake tooth modeled after the crown they removed attached to it and am supposed to use this $800 pc of plastic for 5 months but it is already so loose already after only 3 wks ive almost choked on it more than once and the fake tooth part has been disinigrating so that it is sharp enough that its cutting up my gums, tongue, and - unless this is a cavity - a very small pieces of the tooth beneath it. it cost $800 i dont have to pay agsin for three wks of the same and the endodontist has given me no solutions except to deal with it or go toothless for the next 4 or 5 months. PLEASE HELP! What are my options? is this going on becsuse my tongue rests against it? because the doc shaved the tooth too much to try to make it blend in? are there any types of one-tooth flippers or other devices, perhaps with the material connecting the tooth made of hard plastic or even metal? Also, I live in the suburbs of a large US city (phila pennsylvania): are there good practicioners out there would wpuld consider putting at least a temp crown in with the post/screw surgery 6-8 wks from now since i already have the mold of the old one? I cant even go without the flipper right now in my sleep or hanging out at home because the tooth next to the missing one has a vert sharp edge that has left a scab already on my lip. PLEASE HELP: PROS OR ANYONE WHO JAS DONE THRU THIS PROCEDURE, even if u didn't have problems, i want to know why i do. People at work are starting to look at my strange as it hangs down when i talk....
