I had a big surgery on 8/14/2008. A failed implant has been taken out and bone grafting was done. After the surgery until now, no x-ray has been taken.

usually when should x-ray be taken to monitor the process of bone heal? Thanks.

It generally takes 3-6 months to achieve complete healing.X-ray is taken to determine if the bone is solid for implant placement in my pracrice. Primary stability is critically important for successful osseointegration. It appears that tr33704's condition did'nt  achieve primay stability and final ossointegration was unsuccessful.

I had bone graft and didn't remember an xray being taken.  He just took the stitches out and looked at the graft.  Then he inserted the implants.  Unfortunately, mine also failed years later due to infection which now requires major surgery.  Take care of your teeth !!!! I regret it every minute.  Good Luck.
