Post Op? Crown Lengthening

I just had crown lengthening 2 days ago. I was told to avoid hot drinks and fat. I guess I should have asked why I shouldn't eat anything with fat, but all I wanted was to get out of there by this time. Possibly it is not got for the stitches? How long should I be careful of these things for?

I am not sure why you have to avoid fats--new one on me but I do not do clps so I am not sure. The hot drinks would be for the bleeding and that should be for 24 hours.

What's a 'crown lengthening'?  Why and how do/could they do it?

it's a procedure that exposes more of a tooth by repositioning the gum tissue and sometimes removing some bone from around the tooth.  it is done to allow proper decay removal and restoration of the tooth.
