Have you had a sit down with your doctor? It really might be a good idea. It's hard to answer your question. Most folks who've had 2 or more episodes of depression are generally considered to have chronic and chemical imbalance type depression. There are other meds out there that are safe during pregnancy. I have severe erosive GERD, and if I'm in high anxiety or depression it makes my stomach so much worse, it's horrible. I have major depression plus bipolar spectrum disorder (basically in a nutshell, it's harder to treat my depression), any time I have a dip in moods my stomach flares and I get very nauseated. On top of meds, it's good to have your own wellness program, for example a decent diet, good sleep habits and managing stress. Whether you decide to go off meds or not, should be discussed with your doc, especially with having IBS.
If you can remain stable and adjusted without Psychtropic medications then why would you take them?
10 years is a long time to take any same antidepressant if your honestly not missing not taking it. Who knows, maybe you never needed the drug to begin with.
All I know is that I would NEVER take this cocktail of poision if I could even halfway function without it's theraputic effect. I suggest you use the same logic.
