Anti-Depressants and Pregnancy

I'm going to the doctor today to be evaluated for depression.  I know I have depression and I think i've had it all my life but no one noticed.  It's affected everything I've done in my life and I'm ready to finally feel better.  My only problem is that I'm currently going through fertility treatment and therefore I'm not sure I can take anti-depressants.  Can anyone tell me if they've been on anti-depressants while pregnant?  And if so were there any complication because of it?

I am also 37 and want to become pregnant.  I was on Zoloft and now on Lexapro and have been told by my gynecologist and a mid-wife that both are safe to be on while pregnant.  In fact, they said they would prefer me to stay on the medication during pregnancy because if I'm not healthy and taking care of myself, it would be bad for the baby.

There are blogs like this one for mothers and mothers to be where you can post your question.  I have a couple of sites I can send you tomorrow from work.  They are on my work e-mail, but I will e-mail them to you tomorrow.  Almost everyone who responded to me had no problems.  In fact my therapist was on Celexa during both her pregnancies.

Now don't get me wrong, if you can wait to start the meds until after your baby's birth, that's always the best because there are risks to the baby that could occur like respiratory problems or withdrawal symptoms, but everyone I've talked to have had no problems.  It's a really hard issue because you want a baby so bad, but you don't want to be selfish and have one knowing there are risks out there.  My husband and I haven't officially started trying yet, so I'm still thinking about it.  I'm hoping God will take it into his hands and guide me.

Will this be your first child?
