I also started Celexa recently, at 20 mg a day and I took it for 4 nights and last night I quit cold turkey.  This is the worst medication I have ever taken, for 3 days now I haven't eaten because all I've been able to do is sit in the bathroom dry heaving and very slowly sipping on ice water.  I cannot sleep either and I have noticed my vision is blurring and my balance is really off.  I told my (Psych)Dr that I was having issues with this medication but he insists this is what I have to take.  I am going to look into another (Psych) Dr or go back to my regular family physician.  I have taken a lot of medications over a 20 year period such as: Paxil, Cymbalta, Xanax, Buspar, Zoloft, etc, and I have never suffered the side effects of Celexa with any of these.  Im hoping after only taking this drug for 4 days that it clears outta my system rapidly so I will stop being so sick and messed up feeling.  I agree with you on the side effects being extremely uncomfortable and I understand this drug works well for some but not for others.  Best of luck to you in finding the right medication that does help without the horrible side effects.

everyone is different, regardless of how long or how short of a period of time they've been taking medication though, right?

i hope everything works out for you! but like others have said, i would definitely inform your doctor of what's going on right now and also to inform them that you're not taking the medication anymore after this.

best of luck to you.

No, you cannot become addicted that quick. Also, I cannot believe that you are having that many side effects from 20 mgs. You really need to work with your doctor and find something for your anxiety. You have been talking about this for some time now.

Good luck.

You should be just fine.  Make sure you let your doctor know you stopped.
