I have been taking generic Lamictal by a company called Zydus. It has a strong fish taste and sometimes makes me gag and vomit. Does anyone else have this problem?
I'm trying to switch to another generic, but I don't know which one to try.
likely this is already answered,
but definitely. i went on generic without going in and consulting my psychiatrist about it - it was cheaper after all. i started sliding backward in a very powerful way over the course of a month. i went to my psychiatrist last week and she put me back on trade. i regret it and hope to be somewhat stable sometime soon. right now my emotions are a roller coaster...not the fun kind.
Yes, in fact my Psychiatrist even told me this is very true. That is why he has me taking double the Generic to compensate for it's lower dosage.
I would like to take the name brand, but it's so expensive. So instead I just take more of the generic Lamotragine.
I have had problems with the generic for Lamictal and have found the brand to be a lot more effective. My Dr. is no longer prescribing the generic for her patients because most have had issues with the generic.
Yes I had that problem specifically with Lamictal and it can happen with generics in general most often as there is a slight variance in the dose as my psychopharmocologist informed me.
