Hi,
Sorry to hear you are still not feeling well. Interesting. It still could have been the Cymbalta. One of side effects while on the medication can be dizziness. If the dizziness persists and you are concerned, get it checked out again. It should subside after a few weeks as your body readjusts. I'm not a doctor and I dont want to give you the impression my advice is professional advice--just my experience.
So, you are not pregnant? Why did the dr think you were in the first place. Maybe you need a new dr??
Yes, I had suicidal thoughts before and after Cymbalta. So, I wouldnt come out and say Cymbalta caused them. It just didnt help them to go away. If you are thinking about suicidal you need to tell someone and seek professional help. You can work through this--be patient. If you find yourself dwelling or wanting to act on the thoughts then DO NOT wait to get help. Your life is worth more than making that final decision.

thank you very much for your information. i am not sure if i should go back to cymbalta now. The reason why my primary doctor (not phys) told me to stop was I pregnant bec. the dizzyness started 2 weeks before I got off cymbalta. Now we did a blood draw and I am not pregnant. Now what is wrong with me?
Did you have suicidal thougths too when you could not have your meds?
the thing is I was on cymbalta since nov. and off for over 3 weeks now should I still feel this way? how about my other symptoms?
Yes, yes, yes. These are classic, expected symptoms of what's called discontinuation syndrom (just a fancy, drug company name for withdrawal). I took 90mg of Cymbalta for 3 months. I ran out over a holiday weekend and couldnt get a refill. By the third day, I was a wreck (and at the time had no clue it was the Cymbalta). I called my Dr who prescribed and he said, "no way, not possible its the Cymbalta". He was a primary care dr, not a psychiatrist. By the 4th day I was not able to function. I wind up calling the drug company maker direct and they were like, "duh"--this is the expected outcome when you go cold turkey and were appalled any dr would prescribe this type of anti-depressant and not know the possible effects of stopping it.
Here's the good news. This will pass. Each day things got better after the 5th day. It took 2 weeks for the symptoms to subside, but they will and do. I was terribly dizzy, incredibly irritable, overly sensitive to any noise, stomach was in knots, and I had a strange buzz/zapping sensation in my head. I thought I was crazy. In understanding this type drug and its how its metabolized in your system, its not a surprise. Your body is re-adjusting to dealing with seretonin and norepinephrin (sp?). And not surprisely, contrary to believe, quite a bit of your bodies seretonin is produced in your "gut", not your brain--hence the stomach problems. The best advise I can give is to just ride this out unless you think you will be going back on this drug. I'm not knocking the drug--it may help some folks. But if you do, and go off it again--taper VERY SLOWLY. Another thing I have read is it is better to taper with a much longer acting drug like Prozac. This may help the re-adjustment your body will go through.
Good luck to you. I feel your pain. You will be okay. Try and ask your family to hang in there and help you through. Sleep as much as you can, exercise a little, stay away from smoking, alcohol and eat well. This sounds simple, but it will help you through.
