Is it depression or anger management problems?

I'm going to start off by saying, " I don't know?".  I have gained so much weight since I've met my husband.   We met off the internet back in 01/06 and "we" got "me" pregnant.  We married in 06/06 and welcomed a beautiful baby girl in 12/06.  Elisa Nicole will be 2 on 12/15/08.  Anyway, we have had a lot of ups & downs.  (Mostly downs!)  I entered a home with my husband and his 3 girls from a previous marriage.  Their ages are: 17,16 & soon to be 11.  I knew that not only was I getting married to my husband, but his kids as well.  OMG, who needs an amusement park when you can get on this ride for free!!!  What a roller coaster of a life I've had for the past 2 years.  Now, I'm not blaming him or his children for all the downs, cuz I will be more than glad to accept the blame, but ***, I can only take so much of him treating me like a *****, maid, nanny, lacky, ect...I told him that if that's the kind of woman he wanted, than he should have gotten a woman from the  "old country".  Shoot me, but my main focus is my daughter!!!  It is not my fault that their mother handed custody over to him cuz she rather be a *****, gambler, drunk, druggie, and just a poor excuse for a mother.  In my book it takes more to be a mother then just getting knocked up!  There's so much more!

You mentioned big weight gain. What is the connection to you gaining so much weight and the stress issues you are looking for solutions to? Does the weight bother him or are you eating because of stress?

Hello, Mary.

It doesn't sound like depression (although I don't know all your symptoms), it sounds like stress.  Stress turns to anger which if turned inward, will turn into depression.  You need someone to talk to - a friend, a counselor, someone in this forum to vent.  Somehow, you need to find a way to get rid of the stress - exercise (I know, all the responsibilities at home make this difficult), meditation, a stress management class, yelling outside, a punching bag, something, anything to reduce the stress.

It also sounds like marriage counseling would be a huge help if your husband is willing.  If things don't change, eventually you'll either go crazy or leave the house.  Try getting help before things become unmanageable.

Regards,

Curt
