how do you guys do it...?

Living with this feeling every day is so damn hard...I mean I can do it...but like it's so hard to explain. I know most of you probably feel similar in some way. Every night it's so hard for me to fall asleep...like sometimes not until 3 or 4 in the morning. I don't really eat a lot anymore, and I've always been kind of skinny, but still that makes it worse. it's not like I don't eat anything, I just don't feel hungry sometimes. And sometimes I have this feeling that no one really cares..and no one really understands..except other people who have depression. I know I'm not alone but I haven't met a single person yet who truly feels this. Like sometimes I really just don't know what to do...like right now...so I'm just lying in bed here thinking. I always over analyze things which makes life ever harder. Seriously when will this **** end I just wanna like be angry/sad at the same time....it's so hard to feel anything which really *****....I hope some people will tell me how they do it every day... I feel like I've tried just about everything. Exercise, counseling, medication (one for sleep and one for depression), treatment programs...I have cut before but I will never do that again...Just looking for some coping skills here I guess

I read alot, I like the Ekhart Tolle books, power of now kind of stuff, love it, helpful, and Taming the Gremlins in your head.
Also, writing it out. I write alot and then shred it if its stuff i don't want anyone else to see.
We are all in this journey together,

What really helps me through this all are little goals I set for myself.  Things such as paint a picture or go out and do a photoshoot around town (I love photography) or get an A+ on a test (Im still in school)...when I accomplish these I get little spurts of happiness and motivtion.  I know the feeling SO well of just feeling really really low and angry.
Maybe set little goals for yourself to accomplish...when you accomplish them it makes you feel good about yourself.

Last post mirrors mine. I survive because of the meds I take, been 'troubled' for 20+yrs too. Are you willing to accept the downside of medication in order to feel 'normal' again.Suggest you take some professional's advice on this. Support in plenty on here, but you need qualified help. There are ways to cope & with help you'll find them..Good luck, Stay active & mix with people. Smile more & you'll get some back.George

I have had depression for over 20 years, and the only thing that helps me is anti-depressant medication.  I cannot cope without it.

It is a mountain, to climb every day.  Without medication I would have killed myself long ago.

No help to you, but as you see from mcluna, we all have different ways of coping.

I know this might not sound like a solution or what you want to hear maybe....but the only answer when there isn't one is "God". It may sound stupid and you may not believe, I don't know your religious beliefs but God gives peace:) I'm so not just preaching either. God helped me when I had similar feelings and now I'm better and a better person because of it. I promise that is what cured me from most of my demons. Just prayer, church and good people I surrounded myself with. God Bless and I'm always here to talk....
