Long term effects of Paxil

I've been taking Paxil 10mg since my early 20's, I'm now 44 and have been experiencing lots of aches and pains in my body; does this have anything to do with Paxil?  I'm trying to figure out if the pains I'm experiencing are due to running/exercise and my work which involved physical labor.  Help?

Hello

I am seeing now that i might need medication permanently though i have been through a difficult marriage and am in the break up stages and trying to find the new me and recover.

Did you ever try to give them up ?  Just wondering, or cutting down your dosage.  Just wondering if there are other options to taking the medication for this long.

I don't think there's any way to tell.  Certainly GlaxoSmithKline isn't talking.  What does seem to happen is that anti-depressants can prevent absorption of magnesium, which is responsible for relaxing the muscles.  But it could be something entirely different.  I assumed for years that my neck pain was a response to my agoraphobia, but it turned out to be deteriorating discs in my cervical spine from an old auto accident.  If it's due to overwork, an orthopedist should be able to tell by looking at pictures, but not always.  And who doesn't get aches and pains as they get older?
