Do these symptoms sound familiar

Hi all.

I hate to post here but i have been worrying for a while that i may be suffering from either depression/anxiety or something else.

Back in May i started to have a strange feeling in my legs as if they were like jelly.

They only felt like jelly when i was sitting down really and when i got up to walk they felt fine, no weakness at all.

I then developed pins and needles in my legs and feet at the same time as the jelly legs. At one point my toes on my right foot felt like i was holding them in a fire, this only lasted about 18 hours.

Around about a month later i starter to feel the jelly feeling in my hands and arms.

At times i would be holding my phone and would feel a jolt go through my hand and would drop the phone.

My right hand was also shaking quite a bit.

I was then presented with tingling in my face, lips, scalp and chest which was quite worrying.

After that i then started getting frequent urination which lasted about 3 weeks only to be replaced with a pain in my testicle and also around my rectum.

Next symptoms seemed to be a strange crawling in my back then the centre of my back felt like someone was holding a match to it this seemed to last a couple of days, i have also had back and neck ache for a couple of weeks too.

I've been to the doctor and they have done a lot of blood tests and all have come back fine.

Just wondering where i go from here and whether or not this sounded at all like symptoms of depression?

Hope you are all well and look forward to your views.

Regards

David

hi
:) dont hate to post here .. We all do and nothing to hate about that ...
regarding ur case : get a second opinion medically /neurologically and if again everything is negative it could be somatic manifestation of depression .
but before jumping to conclusions lets make sure that nothing physical is responsible ,

for some people especially who r not very much in touch with their unpleasant feelings they get physical manifestations of depression .. so thats also a possibility . But rule out physical illness first

Hello there.  We all have different physical symptoms of depression, so not able to tell you that what you are feeling is because of depression.

I see you have seen  a doctor about the symptoms you describe above.  As you say nothing can be found, what do you think could be the problem?

If you are on medication, sometimes that can cause strange physical symptoms.

If nothing can be found to explain what you are feeling, then perhaps, in your case it could be depression.  I personally have never read her on depression site on Medhelp about anyone having symptoms similar to yours, but we are all different.  Hopefully someone will read your post and be able to help.

You do seem to have a wide variety of symptoms that cannot be explained.  I had various physical symptoms with depression, and tests and scans showed nothing was amiss.

I would stop worrying about the things you are feeling.  Just relax as much as you can.

So potentially i should have been posting this in the anxiety section?

Do you yourself think you suffer from anxiety?  Has a doctor diagnosed this?  Often depression and anxiety go hand in hand, so both are treated with the same medication.

For instance I was on an antidepressants that stopped both depression and anxiety in their tracks.  So you can post on either or both sites.  Whatever you feel will help you.

Perhaps on the anxiety site you will find other people with symptoms similar to yours.  Worth having a look.

Take care
