Depression/ Anxiety after LSD (please help)

I'm 16 and i took my first acid trip about a month ago, i took it at about 8pm and the first half i really enjoyed. at about 3 in the morning my mate started feeling that the trip was becoming too intense for him so we tried to get some sleep. i lay in bed for a few hours not being able to get asleep and the longer i couldnt sleep i started to get nervous and my mood become more down and anxious. i wouldnt say i had a bad trip but i definately didn't enjoy the last part of my experience.

the next day i woke up and felt really ****, i had nothing to do and i got this feeling where i felt really depressed/ restless when i sat down and did nothing so i just paced aruond my house for most of the day. since then the feelings have dulled down but i still feel abit restless when im sitting somewhere doing nothing and everything seems a little bit worse than they used to be.

ive smoked week most days since the trip and sometimes it helps to take my mind away but other times when im sobering up from being stoned it makesthe feeling more overwhelming. I think im going to take a few months off from drugs and alcohol to hopefully let my brain go back to normal.

Does anyone have any advice or experiences they can share with me because i really don't wont the rest of my life to be like this, Thanks.

I agree with you more-than-a-virus, I don't think people are aware of the anxiety - depression- mood cycles weed can cause..

Cheers for the feedback dudes, my moods improved alot over the past couple days and the anxiety's almost completely gone so its seeming like it was just a matter of time, i don't think i'll get on LSD again just to be safe and im still gonna take abit of time to be sober and fully recover.

Hi I agree with everything morethanavirus has said.. I think weed causes more long term effects than LSD but its really a lottery..

Some people are more susceptible to mental health problems, and drugs seem to activate severe mental health episodes.. so if you're already vulnerable you could find yourself in pyschosis.

Take care!

First of all, do not use drugs if you are not ready for health treating consequences ... Inform yourself as much as you can about the harm. Be ready 4 health damage.

LSD works by changing quantity of produced neurotransmitters that are important for our mood, . So, when it stops working, brain is not able to make new neurotransmitters so fast, and then you get depressed. That`s normal. Even though, after I took it, I was feeling fine in the morning and fascinated by the trip...

Pot has nice power of pleasure, but it can also lead to anxiety, depression, especially when you are sobering up... It`s the way it is. I can`t be sure, but from my experience I would say the weed causes you more problem then 1 LSD...

And few months without is an good idea if you want to know and recover yourself...

If you care about your life so much, do not use drugs, at least not so often, and if you don`t... It`s your choice... And, by my opinion, you have a right to do what you want to do...
