Unfortunately we can't diagnose you here, but I would say it's important that you get a referral to a psychiatrist. Cutters use the cutting as an outlet to feel pain or release pain. Even though you've stopped, you are still getting cycles of depression. See your family doctor and get a referral - the sooner you do that, the easier it will be for you.
I am a 42 yr old male and I have done some cutting myslef, only because I didn't want to feel the emotional pain I go through. I am learning to do some journaling and just write down thoughts as they go through my mind. I do see a tgherapist on a regular basis. I am also taking some medication to help with muy illnesses suchas depression, anxiety or panic attacks. I do some natural healing techniques suchas taking daily walks around the block or to the market, just to be away from the apt complex. I also listen to sme music enjoy such as R&B, Rock or some Hip Hop. Basically anything to just keep my mind occupied. I find it most healing to just talk to a friend whether its on or offline about anything, within reason. Hope this helps
