Uh oh, I wasn't thinking it was something bad, but now I do, lol.
Hmm--that is strange. Not sure why it is doing that. I just see your icon in the top left of your post.
Thanks for telling me about it.
I hope the red x isn't something bad?
chigirl, thanks so much for responding. I didn't think of checking the thyroid forum, duh!!
So you don't see the little box with a red x and your name in it up on the left hand side of my post? How really weird!! Maybe it shows up to the person who posted the question. It serves no purpose it seems. It's like I should click on it, but when I do, your name just shows up again. Strange.
I am sorry about your lab bills; I have them too:(
I'm not an expert on the thyroid, but there are a lot of good people posting on the thryoid forum for further information.
If you want a thyroid test, ask your doctor for a thryoid antibody test and a thyroid hormone level test. Get both, even if your doctor tells you that the antibody test might not be necessary.
If you have a thyroid problem, you have options as to how you want to treat it. There are various ways and it would depend on what your doctor observes.
Don't feel shy about asking what they tested for. If the tests are a few months old, go ahead and be re-tested on things that you are concerned about.
You can always ask for a copy of your lab results and have them explain them to you. Then, you can go home and research what your doctor has said--if that is what you want to do.
If your present doctor is making you feel uncomfortable about asking things, then try a new doctor. I have done this before and it helped a lot.
Regarding my name in the box in the top left corner:
I don't know.
All I see are ads on my computer's left side.
On the right side, I see recent activity. Recent activity means that I may have updated my profile and you just click on my photo to see it. You can see all of the profiles in the Recent Activity block if you click on them.
Below Recent Activity, there is a block of photos--those are community members. I pressed Join at the top of the screen to join this forum.
I'm not sure about the top left, but what you see may be different--I'm not sure.
I hope I have answered your questions. Good luck with finding out about your labwork...don't be shy about it:)
chigirl--I wonder why your name is up in that little box in the top left. Do you know?
