Oh ok I see now. That makes a lot of sense now about the Victan.
Funny how in different countries the names for drugs can be so different.
As for the Hypochondria. I know that's probably very hard on you to deal with. You just have to keep telling yourself that it is fueled by the anxiety and depression. It's not a real thing and your not physically sick.
You have to condition your mind to resist these thoughts that your having heart problems or liver damage or any other sort of issue. It's just the depression and anxiety telling you lies.
I always say that depression and anxiety are huge liars. They can make our brain beleive things that even in our sane mind we know not to be true.
They want you to beleive the lies they are telling you. Recognize this when it happens. Say to yourself over and over "I know it's the anxiety and I'm not sick."
Hello.
I'm not American, I'm European. Maybe that explains why I was prescribed with Victan, which is a common benzo around here.
I've been going through severe depression for about 4 years and last year I also got hypochondriac.
During this period I had all the symptoms typical to this condition like tachycardia, feeling tired, having difficulties sleeping at night, feeling down.
Now, to wrap it up I also started feeling those weird sensations I described in my previous post and since I'm now very hypochondriac I immediately thought about multiple sclerosis. I finally decided to go to the doctor and things are slowly improving with the medication he prescribed.
Wish you all the best.
Victan is a long acting Benzodiazaphine, much like Klonopin.
It's strange that here in the United States that a doctor would prescribe you Victan simply because it is a very rare benzo here in the states.
In fact I'm supprised your american doctor even knew what Victan was.
Either way it's a good anti-anxiety drug and should help. If it fails to do the trick then try Klonopin.
There are so many Benzodiazaphine drugs on the market world wide. One would be hard pressed to remember them all.
Now is science could just make a benzo that we never build up tolerance to then that would be huge.
Thanks a lot for your reply Hensley258.
I see that we both know how it feels to suffer from these awful symptoms.
After many years of depression it was only this year that I searched for medical help. About a month ago I was prescribed with prozac and victan. So far, though it's too early I can surely say I've noticed a slight improvement in my condition. :)
I wish you all the best.
Yes it can be caused from depression and anxiety. For these sensations to happen the anxiety and depression usually has to be on the higher end of the scale.
Without proper med treatment I also get very physical sensations too. They are a little different for all of us because depression and anxiety manifest themselves different in every person that has the condition.
Having severe anxiety dissorder plays very nasty tricks on our nervous system. It can make the body feel things that are not really there.
For me it feels like my skin is crawling on my legs. Then I get kind of a weird all over body vibratin, or buzzing in my body. (It's really werd and hard to explain) not like shaking, but almost like being shocked without the jolt or pain.
It can play really weird tricks on your body.
So in short, yes I beleve you 100% and I also know that really advanced anxiety dissorder can cause it.
I find that Xanax or Klonopin work best for it.
