Thanks, Hensley. I think today I just had a bad day in general, I'm actually 'starting' on 50mg, for anxiety, OCD, probable panic disorder, and slight depression. I think I'll ride the wave out, and just continue on with my prescribed dosage, I'm also about to start CBT shortly, so hopefully, I might be able to hop off Zoloft sooner rather then later, as some of the stories regarding withdrawal and other symptoms have caught my attention.
As ParamedFlorena mentioned, it's wise to ALWAYS consult your doctor before adjusting your dosages.
I used to take Zoloft many years ago and my dosage was 150Mgs a day. I took it for clinical depression and anxiety and it was effective.
Depending on the person and the exact condition, Zoloft is usually prescribed from 50Mgs up to as much as 200Mgs a day. This all depends on factors such as the patients tolerance to SSRI's and the severity of the condition being treated.
If your taking it for OCD the the general dosage may be only 50Mgs a day.
DON'T INCREASE THE DOSAGE BEFORE CONSULTING YOUR DOCTOR FIRST.
Trust me I learned this one the hard way with a Cymbalta and Eskalith combo and it damn near killed me. I took way too much and got very sick. Last time I ever disregard my P-Docs orders.
Personally, I'd run that by the one who prescribed it to me, but here's what I can read about it:
Dosage for Adults
Major Depressive Disorder and Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder
Zoloft treatment should be administered at a dose of 50 mg once daily
