New Mum

Could I have postnatal depression 6 weeks after the birth?

What is a key difference between PND & sleep deprivation?

Postpartum depression is the inability to bond with your baby, not wanting to care for it, or even to wanting to harm it.  But I think you have just reached the stage where many new moms wonder "what have I gotten myself into!"  This is normal.  You're becoming overwhelmed with everything, and this too is typical.  Talk to any mom and she will tell you she went thru this.  Babies are a lot of work, but worth every bit of it. You're tired and over-whelmed, every new mom is this early in the game.  It does and will get easier, and somewhere along the way, you will find yourself telling a new mom the same things.  Relax, enjoy your baby.

Yes you can. What are your symptoms?
When I was a new mom I slept when my daughter did. She was my only child so this was easy to do, but if you have more than one child it's almost impossible.
Let us know your symptoms and talk to your Dr. It's not uncommon at all to have postpardom depression. Take care. Remar
