Don't feel alone.I tried several anti-depressants and would love to have one work. I have my eyes feel like they were under pressure like they were going to pop out. I had my teeth and gums hurt burn. I had headaches and my face burned. And one I couldn't taste food at all. Like eating cardboard. My eyes would water excessively and my lips chapped burned. All of them gave me some bad allergic side affect.
I can't take antidepressants either. I have very terrible side effects. Maybe it's something to do with what they are making them with? I mean they are all different, but there has to be a link somewhere.
There are plenty of avenues you can take. Don't think pills are the only way. Diet is def. a huge factor, as is exercise (although I don't get nearly enough!) There are natural doctors, Chiropractics, acupuncture, eastern medicine- many different avenues! Also, therapy is really important as it can help you sort through what is causing and give you ways to cope. Also, yoga has done wonders for me!
Hope you find some relief soon!
That's unusual because there are a variety of classes of anti-depressants that work in very different manners. The site "Depression Central" has full information on what is available but I would suggest the best thing to do is see a mood disorders specialist and see if they could determine if there is any medication you could take that you would react to better including medications that are FDA approved but in clinical study as anti-depressants. Also good are psychopharmocologists (I see one) as they are "medication specialists". Also if you are having the same adverse reaction to multiple medications that need to diagnose what it is and figure out why as that would help them determine potential treatment choices.
