lexapro and shaking

Hi everyone, I started taking lexapro 3 weeks ago.  lately I have had times when i start shaking, mainly when i wake up and i'm still in bed.  I know it says muscle tremors are possible but do i need to call my doctor?  I'm concious the whole time so i know it's not a seizure.  it feels like really bad cold chills and it only lasts a few seconds but it is happening more often, everytime i wake up.  any suggestions?  I'm also on metformin which makes me dehydrated if i don't drink water all day could the lexapro make it worse?  sorry i know that's a lot but anything would help.

I,m on for the very first time but  i do think  it would"nt hurt to try.instead of waiting and letting time go by!

That can be a side effect of SSRI anti-depressents but each person responds to each medication differently and there are other classes of anti-depressents as well. For more information google "Depression Central" and speak to your psychiatrist about it.

Thanks for the quick response.  Do you think if i switched to a different medication it would have the same side effects?

Yes should call your doctor as soon as possible. Temporary movement disorders can happen from Lexapro and that can be treated with a side effect pill. They could also see whether the two medications are interacting as well.
