restless

I dont think its depression but i dont know what group to post on so here it is.

lately I've been feeling restless non stop. I've had some bad experiences with some girls recentely and I think that might be why. No matter what I cant seem to stop thinking about my past, and events and stuff like that. I feel like my past to get me. I have butterflys all the time it seems like for no reason. Im have this nervous feeling all the time even when there is nothing to be nervous about. I'm having trouble accepting the facts of life and its like i cant turn the page in my life when i know i really need to. My past is haunting my all time. Even when im around my closest friends i feel uncomfortable. I should be able to learn from my past experiences but I keep going back to them. I feel like i have a weak mind that cant put the past behind me. No i havent done anything serious just bad experiences with people but it feels like life of death. Its really wierd I know. And i know the problem is that ive been thinking way too much about them but now im stuck. Its almost like im afraid of my past. The worst part is I feel like i cant fight it at all. the feeling just overtakes me.

You aren't totally alone in your concentration toward the past because I read that most people spend 2 hours per day in regret. You don't have a weak mind, just need a different focus. It is a natural thing to want something, but not healthy to want something (a change of circumstances in your case) in the past because the past is irrelevant.
Buddhism is a good philosophy to read in order to focus on the now. I never went to therapy but pretty much instantly shook my 2 wasted hours per day addiction by reading Buddhism. To each his own though.

Hi.....it appears that due to repeating things from your past, you feel this is the way your life will always be.  The past haunts many of us to some extent but when it affects your day-today life you need to seek professional help.  You can't change the past and things that have happened and while dwelling on the past...that's where you'll stay.  It can be difficult to put a period on something and move forward but we really need to do this.  Often writing about our feelings can help us to do this.  Write down all that you feel and think about and that you need to move on.....I think you will find this to be very helpful as it's a form of release for us.  Therapy can be a big help with letting go of your past as well.  It sounds like you're being very hard on yourself and you shouldn't be.  Life is about learning and we all make mistakes and this is how we learn.  Own what you have done and tell yourself it's over, you can't change it but will take something positive away from it.  Do all of this in writing...I think it will have more of an impact on you.  Get busy living in today and get excited about all that lies ahead of you in life.  The past is gone, all we are sure of is today and you don't want to waste another day on something in the past that can't be changed.....but YOU can change!  Write down what you've learned from your past experiences and then put a big period on that time period.  All that matters is what you do from this day forward and our pasts are great teachers.  I know this is all easier said than done and that is why I suggested therapy to help you do this.  We all need a little help at some point and that's okay.
You sound like a decent guy who can move beyond the past and hold your head high while doing so!  I hope this helps and wish you all the best!
