scars

Does anybody know a good way to get rid of scars from cutting? both arms are covered in them, and im ashamed of it sometimes, and i dont want people seeing them no more. There has to be some way, even if its just covering them up enough for them to not be so noticeable. They make me feels so ugly.

I use something called "Nadinola" I am not sure if it available to you. That is for the scar removal but for day to day I just put concealer, the "Milani" brand. You may go to the make up store and find your tone.

Also, there is a beauty and cosmetics forum on medhelp. You do not have to get into details, you can just ask what any would recommend for scars on the arm or something.

Sorry about the scars, they can be truly embarrassing especially when persons ask questions about them.

There is that concealer you can buy (advertised on TV), I forget the name of it right now (something-cover..."Miracle cover"?  "Sheer cover"?...something like that).  The commercial has an older woman covering up all of her varicose veins on her legs, and at least in the commercial, looks pretty amazing.  You could use something like that when you will be feeling more self conscious.

There are OTC products you can buy as well to help reduce the severity of scar appearance.  They will probably never go away completely, but with time, they will fade.

Hi.
One of my arms is pretty much the same. I bought BioOil which is said to have some 'breakthrough' formula to reduce the appearance of  scars, even skintone and stuff like that. It does reduce the appearance of them for a little while but I find if my skin gets too cold or too warm my scars become a lot more noticable unfortunately.
There is also meant to be medical makeup available now specifically for people who self harm or have unsightly scars, I seen a video online of a girl being taught how to best apply it and conceal her scars best, but goodness knows where it's available and you'd probably go through a lot if both arms are scarred. Plus it isnt really long term.
Your scars are a part of who you are, but I understand that you dont want them to define you. They will fade eventually and probably go a silvery white colour which thankfully isnt too bad, mines are a purple colour and it's a real pain!

All the best!

Rubbing vitamin E into the scars 2-3 times a day with help.  There is also a cream you can buy that is supposed to help fade the scars and I believe it's over-the-counter.  Until they're gone, let them remind you of how far you've come and be proud...not ashamed.  Don't allow them to make you feel ugly...they are your battle scars and you've won the battle!  Time will also fade them.  Keep moving forward and be proud of yourself. You can also call your local pharmacist and ask what is good for fading scars, he will know.  I hope this helps, and I wish you all the best!
