I was put on Cymbalta partly for my chronic spinal pain, don't hold your breath on the claims that it can assist with pain, though it is a good anti-depressant to many. (it didn't work for me pain wise) Having such pain that you are in, is unimaginable, but it sounds like you are quite the fighter. It takes 4-6 weeks to fully work. I would suggest at looking (personally) at other options before Cymbalta, it's hard to get off the med. I went into a different class of AD's to help with my pain, and the anxiety has dropped so much, that the pain is far more manageable.
It's really important to have your whole health team in contact with each other, my pdoc and GP send each other reports anytime I am seen. I've had a battle recently because I had bad side effects from a mood stabilizer, and my GP wanted me off the drug, which I did. I basically told my pdoc to talk to my GP and that was the end of it :) I don't think you'll have that issue, but just letting you know.Keep in touch,

Well He doesn't really know how bad it is. my pcp is going to give him a call. I am usually not as depressed, but when hte pain gets too inbearable, it seems to make me think negatively. I had a spinal nerve stimulator in my back so it could help me with the pain of my foot, the PCP is gong to see if they can put some leads to my spine where the tumor is. the thing with these tumors is if they remove them they can grow back and come back a lot bigger, 5 that I had removed already came back and they are bigger. I have a total (last count was 12 in my foot)
I guess I need to find someone I feel comfortable with and listen and who will understand. I don't know who.
my PCP was going to put me on cymbalta.
thanks for getting back to me

Anyone in your situation needs some back up help with a therapist at least. We can't suggest a medication here for your. That is best left to a psychiatrist. Many folks who go to them, a majority aren't "crazy", but know there is something wrong that needs addressing. If you you have been on more then two I really recommend you see a pdoc, as they are specialists in psychopharmacology, and are the best at find the right drug(s) to help you with your pain. Pain is mentally debilitating, and wearing you down both physically and emotionally. It's happened to me, so I completely understand. Talk to your doctor and get a referral. Does your pain specialist know what is going on?
