Hi,
The differentials I have mentioned may still apply here. Folliculitis may affect areas rich in hairs like the groin area. At this point, this may only offer some discomfort but may not really be urgent .Continue to observe your symptoms as this may not be very urgent right now.
Avoid sharing towels and observe frequent hand washing. Also, do not apply any medications on the area without informing your physician as this may only irritate the skin further.
Do keep us posted for anything.
No I have not been itchy in that area, but i have under my sac where it ends and at the lowest part of my pubic line. I am too embarrassed to tell my parents but i was just checking and it looks kinda like a zit more than anything else if it gets any worse ill tell them right away
Hi,
Please do not be so worried. Have you informed your parents about these? This does not sound very urgent and this is something that may be readily treated. Firstly, it is important that your parents or guardian are aware of this so you may be guided accordingly in case you need a consult with your doctor for medications.
This may be a fungal infection or folliculitis. A fungal infection may present with redness and itchiness while a folliculitis is a bacterial infection that involves the base of the hair. You have noted that there are red spots in your pubic regions. Have you been scratching this? Small cuts on the skin may allow bacteria to invade and cause infections. This is how folliculitis starts.
Wash the area with a mild soap or cleanser. Avoid wearing tight underpants or clothes and keep the area dry and clean always. This may be contagious , so do avoid unnecessarily touching the area. Observe frequent hand washing. Talk to your parents about this so they may set an appointment with your primary physician to have this assessed.
Do you have any known allergies?
