ALLERGIES

I suffer from year round allergies and am allergic to cats and dogs but for the last couple of months my inner and outer eyes have been constantly itching me. When I do itch them, they would swell and by the morning become crusty on my upper and lower eyelids and leaves dark stains around them. Today I got severe itchy and swollen patches under my eye and my inner eyes are really ichy, is this an allergic reaction from something i ate (even though i'm not allergic to any foods) or from my makeup, or is this some type of disease?

An allergist or eye doctor can prescribe eye drops for allergies.

Hello,
It can be due to allergies or the other possibility is of blepharitis. Blepharitis is an inflammation of the upper eyelid in response to any infection or allergy.
Apply warm compresses on the eyelid and keep the area clean with frequent washing. Also avoid applying any eye makeup till the symptoms get resolved. Check the date of the eye makeup and if they are too old, then replace it with new one. If there is no visible improvement, antibiotic ointments may need to be prescribed.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
