Allegic reaction to waxing or hydrocordozone?

Recently, I had my upper lip waxed. On the 2nd day, I developed 4-5 pimple-like bumps. The pimples were  annoying to say the least, but usually go away in a couple days. For some odd/crazy reason, I decided to use Neosporin and or Benydryl cream. Now I have about 20 raised, inflammed, oozing sores. They tend to dry out and repeat the oozing cycle, still hurt and sometimes bleed. It looks so bad, I refuse to go to work with open sores on my lip, as I work with the public.  Any suggestions? Did I add fuel to the fire when I used the creams? This looks and feels horrible!!! Any advice would be helpful.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
From your symptoms impetigo needs to be ruled out. It is a highly contagious superficial bacterial skin infection. Primarily caused by Staphylococcus aureus and sometimes by Streptococcus pyogenes. Topical and oral antibiotics are the treatment of choice. My sincere advice would be to consult a dermatologist and get prescribed oral antibiotics also because sometimes topical therapy with antibiotic creams is not sufficient for the treatment. Also then get other possibilities of folliculitis, viral infections and acne ruled out.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.

This sounds similar to  when my son had the mouth, hand and foot virus. He did end up with several on the outside of his lip. But I had done some research before taking him to the dr, and it could be several other things too including cold sores or impetigo. I would advice you to have it checked out as some are a virus and some are a bacterial infection that you will need antibiotics for.  Good luck and take care.
