Annoying itching for the past year... HELP!?

Hi,

for the past year ive had an allergic reaction to something that I just cant figure out. I have tiny itchy spots all over my body, with a large amount on my hands. These spots are filled with clear fluid, not gross or anything though. Heat makes the itch alot worse, and the only way i can stop a mass itching fest is by running cold water on it. This swells the little spots up. I have tried many creams, including steroid creams, I have taken dairy out of my diet, to find no change, I have taken wheat out of my diet and found no change, I use non allergenic washing liquid, soap free products to shower with, I have had blood tests that show little allergy and i take fish oil, zink, vitamin b and vitamin c everyday. Still no change. I am booked in to see a dermatologist next month, but im really stressed out about it and just want to know any information or helpful ideas that you may have.

Many thanks,
Sally.

Thanks for that. I try and use the steroid cream as little as possible, I know its not good for you. Im just so sick of this and I really want it to go away. Bed is the worst.. I have to sleep with my hands outside of the cover so that they dont get hot. Cos if they do they get insanely crazy. What antibiotics would I get for this?

Regards, Sally.

I think its probably a bacterial infection. Im suffering from one right now. "booked to see a dermatologist next month"   isnt that crazy? that you need to wait over a month to see a doctor?  I went through the same thing. Whatever you do DON'T USE STEROIDS!!!!   they don't do anything for you at all, sure they relieve itching and redness for a short time while you take them but the problem comes right back once you stop, Steroids only mask the problem, plus, you won't know if a medication is actually working or not because the steroids are masking the infection anyways. try antibiotics, strong ones, and see what happens. Dermatologists know the routine with steroids, they prescribe them for immediate relief to the patient without actually curing them, then you are sure to come back over and over again so they can keep charging your insurance company.  why do you think derm's are always booked solid and you have to wait a month to get a visit? if they were actually curing anybody their offices wouldnt be packed all the time. good luck

Hello,
I cannot confirm anything without examination but it can be dyshidrotic eczema. Wash the areas several times with fresh water. Do not use any cosmetic products at the sites. You can apply some calamine lotion at the rash as it will help in soothing the skin. You can take some OTC oral antihistamine medications like Benadryl or Claritin and see if it helps.

For mild-moderate eczema a weak steroid may be used (e.g. hydrocortisone as dermacort), whilst more severe cases require a higher-potency steroid (e.g. clobetasol propionate, fluocinonide).

Eczema can be exacerbated by dryness of the skin. Use good quality moisturizers to prevent moisture loss from the skin.

If still the symptoms do not improve then pls get a clinical examination done by a dermatologist.

I hope that helps.Take care and pls do keep me posted on how you are doing or if you have any additional doubts.Kind regards.
