Birth Control Related to Pubic Pimples?

About two weeks ago, I started taking the birth control pill Cryselle. A few days ago, I started noticing pimples in my pubic areas. I know I do not have an STD. I'm wondering if there is any possible way that the pubic pimples are a side effect to the birth control? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Also, any remedies to get rid of the pain and the pimples would be helpful!

Hello,

It is true that birth control pills can cause increased chances of acne and irritated hair follicles. Please keep the area clean and apply some warm compresses and topical antiseptics. Also use an antibacterial soap or mild soap like dove and wear cotton undergarments. Topical antibiotics such as mupirocin or neomycin containing ointment are also useful. In case the symptoms persist then oral antibiotics and incision and drainage may be needed. Please consult a dermatologist in that case.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
