Black holes near the top on my butt crack

I noticed the other day that it was painful to sit or lie down so I looked in the mirror and found a few holes in the crack of my butt.  Two of them are slightly larger than the others.  I haven't noticed anything coming out of them and nothing is swollen, but it is extremely painful and the pain is growing more and more constant; the skin in my crack near the holes is also red.  Is there anything I can do?  I really don't want to have to go to the doctor, if I don't absolutely have to.

It's very difficult to treat any condition if you don't know the cause- the best place to get an idea of the cause, is your doctor.  I'm sure that's the last place you want to go- but it's always worth a visit for something that is causing you pain.

Make sure you keep the area clean as well, it's an area that's easy to get infected wounds with so much bacteria around.
