Bumpy rash!

My son woke me up the other morning saying his elbows hurt. I looked and he had small bumps in patches on his elbows best I can say is it looked like chicken skin or goosebumps. It almost looked like he had been leaning on his elbows and somehow irritated them. I put  NEOSPORIN and Band-Aids.  Anyhow last night a day or two later he said look mom and now he has it on the right side of his wrist like four or five little bumps and these look more like tough skin underneath  with soft normal skin on top slightly pink somewhat resembling a pimple or spider bite minus the center.  Just now he showed me the inner part of his elbow and he has a few bumps like three. I looked online but can't really see anything like this and now I am in and out of worry. He is also complaining of leg pain but he is four and growing and I am not sure these correlate. Because prior to any of these bumps he has asked me to rub his legs because they hurt.  Also I don't want to freak out because I see some crazy disease on the net and think OMG thats it he's got cancer or what ever.  I am gonna take him to the doctor but is there anything you can tell me in the mean time?

It is so weird you posted this, because my 4 year old daughter is having the same issues. She wad complaining of leg pain and now has a bumpy pimple like rash on her face, wrist, and up and down both legs. Did you ever get an answer?
