Causes of random bacterial skin infections

What could have caused a random bacterial skin infection below the stomach and just above the pubic hair region?  The doctor didn’t seem to know. There was no burns or injuries there. Could it have just been from scratching itchy skin? Could it have been from sex?

Hello~I suggest that you see a dermatologist, he/she will be able to give you a better answer than a regular GP as they are trained in all types of skin diseases.
