Chicken pox scars

My 3 year old daughther had a severe case of chicken pox 3 months ago now and she still has red marks and indentations on her face. I have been advised that the marks will clear on their own by some and others have advised me to use to use certain products. I was using bio oil but have recently changed to Dermatix. Is this the best thing to use? How long should it be before I see an improvement in the marks? Can anyone advise me.

Thank you for your comment. IShould I use vitamin E cream or oil and sun block during the summer to provide the protection that she needs? Also would a vitamin supplement help at all?

Hi,

You are correct in thinking that the scars and indentations will decrease over a period of time only. I think we should give the child the full amount of care and protection, while the skin tries and regains its original shape. Over time, the scars and other marks would decrease. I would rather let it heal completely since it takes the skin about an year to develop similar strength after an injury and healing. I am not too sure about this particular product but i wold insist that you may get this checked from your doctor before applying anything on the sensitive skin of the child.

Let me know if there are any other questions.
