Clobetasol

I am curious if I may have made long term damage to my skin. Has anyone had an issues with using Clobex/Clobetasol on their private area and the skin ended up turning red? I found out it causes atrophy and I hope I didn't cause any serious damage to the skin. Is there anyway I can have my skin normal again?

I was on a 2 week prescription of clobetesol for a ezcema rash, on my back the doctor said it would not  affect any other part of my body, it did supress the rash on my back and it came back but much weaker, but right around that time, my tongue started to burn in one spot, and now my palette is feeling like i drank scalding tea, anyone ever hear of anything like this from strong steroid creams.

Hello,
Clobetasol is a high potency steroid which should be used cautiously. You can start with a mild steroid cream like 1% hydrocortisone but don’t’ use it for a long period of time because topical use of steroids is often associated with side effects like telangiectasia, thinning of skin, skin atrophy or redness. Use high potency steroids only after consulting a dermatologist.

I hope it helps. Take care and regards.
