Dark Color in facial lips

Good Evening. Since almost 4 years i have noticed that the border of my facial lips present a very darker color than the rest of the lips. what is this may be caused? what can i do to solve it?

Thanks for your answer. It is very helpful. ill sure discust this information with a my dermatologist. but i want to ask you something. There isnt any treatment home made that i could do to solve of reduce this issue whithout several side effects?

Hello,
Without examination, confirmation of a diagnosis is tough, but it can be due to hyperpigmentation of the skin. This darkening occurs when an excess of melanin, the brown pigment that produces normal skin color, forms deposits in the skin.

Treatment involves hydroquinone, azelaic acid, corticosteroids, tretinoin cream and laser treatment. Please discuss these options with your dermatologist before using them.
