Derm Question

A few days ago I developed small skin- color/whitish bumps on the side/top of my first toe and in between the first and second toe. Sounds like athlete's foot right? It hasn't spread, isn't on the soles of my feet/heels and is completely resistant to all treatments: hydrogen peroxide, hydrocortisone, rubbing alcohol, tinactin....help!

Hi,

It is good that you have te diagnosis and have started medications for the same.

Let us know about how you are doing and post us about what your doctor advises. Review with your doctor about symptomatic improvement and resolution of the lesions.

Post us if you have any other doubts.

Regards.

Just went to Derm. He agreed it was not athletes foot - despite being in between 1 toe, the rash itself was only on one toe. Also, since tinactin did not work, he said it wouldn't be fungal.  Final dx was eczema. Rx was a cortisone cream.

Hi,

It would be ebst to consult your doctor for a clinical examination.

You have tried several home remedies and they have not helped - in fact, a correct diagnosis can only be made by having a look at the lesions.

This could be allergic reaction, shoe bite, insect bite, superadded bacterial or fungal infection, etc.

You should wear open , lose slippers/sandals; apply calamine lotion and take oral antihistamine medications and consult a doctor.

Let us know what the doctor advises and post us about how you are doing.

Regards.
