Dust in my hair?

yo2
ok this has been happening to me for 4 years now. ive been having a massive amount of dust in my hair. and i dont what the reason is. and its been a real problem for me. i dont know if its dandruff or wat, but it doesnt come in flakey  form. it comes in tiny hair forms. they are white dust like particles which are in my hair and they never run out. what may the cause be and what should i do to stop it? i used to wash my hair every day/twice a day if i play ball. for the last 3 days ive tried shampooing every other day, but i do still wash my hair with water. but no good, there are still a massive amount of dust in my hair. What sort of illness is this?  how can i get rid of it? i really want this gone, its been 4 years of this and i cant take it any longer. even if i am at home there are still dust in my hair, so the pollution cant be blamed i guess? please give me an answer or a solution. im so sick of this... =(

Hello,

Your symptoms are suggestive of dandruff in hair. Dandruff can cause either an overly dry scalp with itchy white flakes that may be waxy or greasy, or it can manifest as an oily scalp with scales. Dandruff is associated with a tiny fungus called Pityrosporum ovale, or P. ovale for short. This fungus lives on our bodies and scalp all the time, usually without causing a problem. Unfortunately, for some people, it can get out of control -- leading to dandruff.

The reasons for which this fungus can get out of control may be due to internal diseases like hormonal imbalance, poor health, allergic hypersensitivity, lack of rest, emotional stress, excessive consumption of sugar, fat or starch and heredity predisposition or excessive use of hair sprays and gels, improper use of hair-coloring products and cold weather and dry indoor heating.

Eat a healthy diet. You can also take vit B6 and vit A and E which are good for hair and skin. Try medicated shampoos for dandruff. There are a number of over-the-counter shampoos available that can help. The most effective ingredients -- antimicrobials -- to look for are zinc pyridinethione, selenium sulfide, sulfur and ketoconazole (also available by prescription). If your hair is colored, don't use products with selenium sulfide or sulfur. Also check out the above causes of dandruff.

If the symptoms persist please consult a trichologist for the confirmatory diagnosis and treatment.

Take care and regards.
