thigh

i have a bunch of what looks like insect bites or red bumps/spots on the top of my right thigh. Is this a sign of pubic lice? Or is it that maybe a little spider got in my bed one night and kind of camped out on my upper thigh?

Hi

Yes, this seems to be a likely case as you have described them to be red bumps over one specific area of the body only .At this point, you have not mentioned of any associated signs and symptoms like fever, fatigue, dizziness ,headaches and joint pains. A generalized rash would suggest a different thing.

How did the bumps respond to the medications you have applied? Are these improving?

i have been outdoors a lot lately, and i slept in another bed one night because my room was being painted. but no history of borrowing clothes and towels. and i have been applying anit itch creme and anti infection creme to the area. but you are most likely predicting that the bumps on my thighs are just from insect bites

Hi

As you have noted this to be highly localized over your thighs ,this may not be something systemic or disseminated. This may be an insect bite.

Have you been oudoors a lot?

Any history of sleeping in someone else's bed?

Any history of borrowing someone else's clothes or towels?

Apply a cold compress over the area to alleviate any itching or swelling. You may apply antimicrobial cream over the area. If the swelling or pain persist, you need a physician to prescribe you medications eg corticosteroids to help with the swelling.
