Hematoma?

The bruise is approximately 2 inches by 1 inch. I thought it was just a bruise but the there is a bump on it that is the color of my skin. I am not sure if it is a hematoma of some sort. I am worried that it will not go away. Is this temporary? If so, how long?

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
The blood under the skin which causes the discoloration of bruising should be totally reabsorbed by the body in three weeks or less. If it persists then it needs to be evaluated by a dermatologist.
It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.

A hematoma is a bruise - same thing.

Sometimes a bruise has a hard lump in the center and the coloring may be different there, but it is still a part of the hematoma where a lot of blood has collected.  I assume this is what you are talking about.  You could put arnica gel on it to hasten the blood's dispersal.
