Rash on Chest
Over a week ago I had a bad sinus infection I was given a Z Pak and Prednisone ( this might have nothing to do with this but i am wondering if I am having a reaction to either one) I have been off of both meds for about 3 days now after completing them and yesterday rash started on my neck and upper chest. What should I do?
Pityposporum folliculitis. Antibiotic kills skin bacteria which normally keeps yeast in check. Doctors misdiagnose and prescribe more antibiotic and /or topical or oral steroids. Both make it worse. I had same thing until i read about this. Had lotrimin at house and saw dramatic improvement in an hour. Tea tree oil had also helped some. Also nizoral dandruff shampoo.
I have heard of people getting a rash as a reaction to medication. I can't say if that's whats going on for sure though. If I were you I would call my clinic and talk to a nurse about it to see if I should go back in and see a doctor.
