I do not know if it could be an STD or what

Last week i noticed in my inner left thigh near my testes I had a rash of some sort.
It was itchy, peeling on some parts with whitish skin and reddish irritated skin showing.  I have been putting Neosporin thinking it would help it heal but it does not.  I am freaking out and i do not know what to do.  Could it be just a rash, infection, std or etc.
Please reply i would appreciate it, I can send a picture of the irritated area if it helps.

Hello,

From the description of your symptoms it sounds like eczema. Eczema is a form of chronic dermatitis (rash).Allergic reaction is one of the important causes of eczema. Allergic reaction can occur to strong soaps, Solvents, chemicals, certain foods, food additives, plants, metals, cosmetics, even urine and faeces of some animals (dust mites).

Apply mild steroid cream on the rash and keep it well moisturized. Also consult a dermatologist as oral steroids may be needed.

I hope that helps. Please do keep me posted on how you are doing or if you have any additional queries. Kind regards.

Thank you so much i am going to try the Benadryl and washing it several times with fresh water.  I will try to go to a pharmacy to buy the calamine lotion as soon as possible.  If this gets worse or no improvement i do not know what to since i am a teenager do you have any advice where i can get this checked out with minimal or no charge.
again thanks.

Hello,

Without examination, confirmation of a diagnosis is tough but it can be contact dermatitis, rash due to friction rub, fungal infection or eczema.

Wash the areas several times with fresh water. Do not use any cosmetic products at the sites. You can apply some calamine lotion at the rash as it will help in soothing the skin. You can take some OTC oral antihistamine medications like Benadryl or Claritin and see if it helps. For mild-moderate symptoms a weak steroid may be used (e.g. hydrocortisone as dermacort), whilst more severe cases require a higher-potency steroid (e.g. clobetasol propionate, fluocinonide). Also use good quality moisturizers to prevent moisture loss from the skin.

If the symptoms persist then it is best to get it evaluated from a dermatologist.

Hope it helps.Take care and pls do keep me posted if you have any additional queries.Kind regards.
