Penile glans and foreskin irritability

I should provide some backstory. I wash my genitals pretty often. I used to use soap but I have since stopped doing that and only wash with warm water instead. My problems started just over a month ago after I didn't wash and didn't pull my foreskin back for 24 hours (the reason for that was that I noticed a slight tear in my foreskin and thought I should stop pulling it back and forth for a while). The next time I pulled it back the foreskin texture was different, a bit thicker somehow and itchy. It was also at around that time that I noticed something else: my pearly penile papules were gone! This might have been a coincidence or maybe it just took me a while to notice as I didn't have many of them to begin with. Since then the itching has almost completely stopped and the foreskin looks better but I'm still left with a couple of other symptoms. Any kind of rubbing of the glans or to a lesser extent the foreskin, even well lubricated, tends to cause irritation. The irritation looks like tiny red dots and is somewhat painful but there's no bleeding. The skin on the glans is also a bit prone to peeling. When I wake up there's a bit of discharge over my glans and foreskin but I'm unsure if this is secreted from the foreskin or if it's bits of peeled off skin. The irritation goes away fast enough and otherwise the penis looks pretty normal to me. The only difference I notice is when flaccid the texture of the glans seems to be not as smooth as it used to be. I'm guessing this is because a bit of skin peeled off but it's hard to notice.
