Thanks,
Well the most annoying thing is that it feels like hair or insulation fibers or smething is always on my face, mostly at work and little less worse at home. Like it feels like there stuff blowing onto my face thats making it tngle and burn, but i dont know if its something in the air newly allergic to my skin or maybe just stuff floating onto my skin that makes it more sensitive,or if its JST sensitivity in of itself and there is nothing on surface of my skin. It is however over those 'lesions' but other areas of face as well. So its other places to,not just where the lines/cracks are. Not sure if its related.
Sucks though because i cant get medical benefits until 2 months. Anything i can do or buy? Any treatments or herbs or anything to shield my face from irritatng thngs?
Hi,
I'm using the term lesions as a general term.Sorry for alarming you.Lesion in medical terminology is used to describe any disruption in an otherwise normal structure.Cardiologists call plaques in blood vessels lesions and dermatologists may refer to certain bumps, lumps or marks as lesions. So it is really a general term.
In your case, I would still consider a dermatitis with a possible fungal infection. You have been experiencing this for quite sometime (is this correct).A dermatitis alone will not necessarily present with scaling or peeling of the skin. Both of these are chronic skin conditions and may be recurrent.Corticosteroids are the mainstay of treatment for dermatitis.A culture or microscopic examination of some skin scrapings from the area will help ascertain if a fungal infecton is present.
For 1 week.
Yes. Daniel kerns Benzoyl Peroxide acne treatment and cetaphil moisturizer.
not sure.
Cheilitis doesnt sound like its it. These are right below my lip/mouth but not right around the lip and mouth.
Lesions? Arent they serious?
Hi,
I know this is very frustrating.
Just a few questions:
For how long have you experienced this?
Have you been applying any medications on your face ?
Do you have any known allergies and have been maintained on any immunosuppressants like corticosteroids?
Differentials for your case will be perioral dermatitis with an underlying fungal infection and cheilitis. Do the lesions involve the corners of your mouth and lips ?
Perioral dermatitis may present as redness and itchness over the areas surounding the mouth. This may be present since childhood and certain triggers may be identified. Scratching the area may cause minor irritations and leads to cuts in the skin. Bacterial and fungal infection may set in.For cheilitis, this may involve the areas at the corner of the mouth and the lips themselves. They may be due to an underlying fungal infection and poor oral hygiene and habits.
Avoid applying anything on the face for the meantime until you have this properly assessed.A mild and bland cleanser or creme may be used just to prevent dryness over the area. Also, avoid smoking, using toothpastes with high fluoride content, certain fruits and vegetables (wash the fresh ones very well), spicy food and other possible triggers.
