Intertrigo- Powder and Creams?

I have had a Intertrigo rash for about a month now, and I have been searching all over for ways to cure it. I first started off just using medicated powder, but that just left my skin dry and flaky. Then I tried using creams, such as diaper rash cream with zinc oxide and miconazole yeast infection cream, which left the areas moist of course.

I was wondering what should I be using, and should I be using the cream and then placing powder over the top so it isn't moist? Also anything to calm the itch?

I have been searching so many forums on these steps, but so far no answers. Any assistance with this would be much appreciated!

I ended up having to go to the ER for a unrelated issue, and had the doctor there give me a prescription, Actavis Clotrimaxole and Betamethasone Dipropionate Cream. The doctor also stated that applying the cream, then applying a anti-fungal powder was best.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
For intertrigo, keep the area clean and apply some topical antiseptics. Also wear loose-fitting cotton clothing and use an antibacterial soap or mild soap like dove. Avoid any kind of cosmetics. Topical zinc oxide cream like Sudocrem, Desitin are very helpful(apply with a paper towel and not directly with hands).Application of mild steroid cream also helps. For the itching please take some over the counter antihistaminic like benadryl or Claritin. In case the symptoms persist then antifungals may be needed. Please consult a dermatologist in that case.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your dermatologist. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
