I had used Elidel or "Pimecrolimus cream" for about 12 days (twice a day) as prescribed by a local dermatologist for dermatitis on an area of my body with naturally thin skin. After nearly two weeks use I saw no improvement, yet my condition did not seem to worsen either. Therefore, I stopped using and met with my doctor; who didn't seem concerned about it and basically said it wouldn't have done any harm. However, I would like to know from another doctor if 12 days was too long for me to use Elidel without seeing any improvement?(I mean could it have done any harm to the skin since it didn't help at all?) It says on the instructions to stop using and contact a doctor if condition does not improve after 6 weeks, however I do not wish to use this for a month & a half and risk serious side effects, if it is unnecessary to do so! My doctor seemed unsure as to whether it was going to eventually work or not, and that is why I am asking on here before I continue using. So, would/could Elidel cause ANY damage to sensitive skin after two weeks use such as thinning or any other side effects at all? < Please answer this question specifically! Also, shouldn't it have helped by now after 12 days use, if it was going to work?
