Wart on upper lip

Hello. I get cold sores on my lips. The other morning I woke up and had a large what appeared to be a cold sore. I take medication for it but it wasn’t working. I went to the dermatologist twice. The second time she took a sample and I will find out in a few days. My question is if it is a wart, which I believe it is, what is the best way to remove it?  I know the options freezing, cutting and now I see laser option. I don’t see much on the internet as far as healing time. What would be the total healing time from scab forming to hopefully back to my normal lip?  It’s really a bad location, I know end dr and believe she doesn’t want me to worry but I’m fairly certain it’s a wart, it’s not herpes and it’s not bacterial. What would be the best method to remove it and what is the best case scenario for healing time?
